|---|---|
| Knitting technics | A loop-back (fleece-back) jersey. The face is a smooth single jersey; the back is knitted with the terry loops — the “毛圈” — that give the cloth its body and warmth. The loops are knitted in, not brushed; they can be left as loop-back (French terry) or brushed into a fleece at finishing, confirmed at quotation. |
| Composition | 100% cotton. No polyester, no spandex — which is exactly why it breathes and feels natural, and why it needs the cotton care (a little shrink, a little crease). |
| Yarn | Combed cotton; counts are set at order. |
| Yarn count | Other |
| Weight | 295 GSM / 8.7 oz/yd². A heavy fleece — a hoodie, a sweatshirt, a jogger, not a lightweight tee. |
| Width | 165 cm / 65 inch. A standard knit width; the loop-back lays efficiently. |
| Colour | Stock shades quoted by number (No.001–No.096), or dyed to match a swatch you supply. The quality is shown in a deep blue; send the shade and we match it, not the chip. |
| Hand | The face is smooth and cotton-soft; the back loops give a gently textured, warm hand. Left as loop-back it reads casual and breathable; brushed it reads plush and warm. |
| Loop back | The terry loops on the back are what make this a sweatshirt cloth rather than a plain jersey: they trap a layer of air for warmth and give the cloth its body and recovery-from-crush. The face stays smooth, so prints and seams sit clean on the outside. |
| Stretch & recovery | The knit’s own give, roughly 20–30% across the width, with low recovery and no spandex. The loops add a little bounce but this is a relaxed, not compressive, cloth. |
| Shrinkage | 4–6% length and 3–4% width on the first wash (cotton), controlled by pre-shrink / sanforising at finishing where the fit is precise — important on a heavy fleece. |
| Pilling | Low for cotton, though the exposed back loops can surface-fuzz under hard abrasion; brushing the back reduces this. |
| Fastness | Good wash and light fastness; cotton is the dependable everyday choice. |
| Making up | A ball-point or jersey needle, a light tension; the loop back faces in. A coverstitch handles the hems and the neckline cleanly on a fleece. |
| Cutting | Lay loop-side down so the face is up; match the loop direction across the front. The 165 cm width is enough for most sweatshirt lays. |
| Pressing | Cotton takes heat and steam gladly; press the face, keep the back loops from flattening under a hot shoe. |
| Abrasion | Good for a casual outer layer; the cotton face wears well. |

| Price | US$ 12.54 / kg (300–999 kg) · US$ 10.99 / kg (1,000 kg+) |
| Yield | ≈ 2.1 running metres per kg at 295 GSM × 165 cm (≈ US$ 6.10 per running metre, ≈ US$ 3.70 per m²). At the 1,000 kg+ price that is ≈ US$ 5.35 per running metre, ≈ US$ 3.24 per m². |
| Lead time | Stock shades ship from the lot on hand; dyeing to match adds 7–10 days for the lab dip and your approval, plus bulk. |
| Packing | Roll-packed, about 20 kg per roll, poly bag inside a woven sack. |
| Sample | Hanger swatch and shade card free; a lab dip against your own cloth charged at cost and credited against the bulk order. |
| Documents | Invoice, packing list, B/L, certificate of origin; test reports on request. |
| Care | Machine wash warm (40°C), mild detergent, line dry or tumble low; press with heat and steam. Cotton — expect a little first-wash shrink if not pre-shrunk; wash inside out to protect the face. |
Loop-back is what makes it a sweatshirt cloth
The face of this cloth is a smooth knit, but the back carries the terry loops — the “毛圈” — and that is the whole point. The loops trap a layer of air, so the cloth has body and warmth without a lining, and it has the classic sweatshirt hand. They can be left as loop-back (French terry) or brushed into a fleece, confirmed at quotation.
For a buyer the read is simple: this is the hoodie-and-sweatshirt cloth, not a tee cloth. The smooth face means prints and seams sit clean on the outside while the loops do the warming work on the inside.

100% cotton, warm and breathable
One hundred percent cotton means the warmth comes with breathability and a natural hand, not the clammy plastic note of a poly fleece. It is the right cloth for casual and athleisure where the garment is worn for comfort, not performance.
The honest limits are the cotton ones: it is heavy (295 GSM), it creases, and it shrinks a little on first wash unless pre-shrunk. We sanforise where the fit is precise; the weight is the point, not a fault.

295 GSM is a heavy fleece
Two hundred and ninety-five GSM is the heavy end of the fleece range — a substantial cloth that is a finished outer layer on its own, not a base layer. With the cotton hand it reads as a premium casual sweatshirt rather than a thin fashion fleece.
And the 165 cm width is a standard knit width that lays efficiently. Spec it for hoodies, sweatshirts and joggers, and keep the lighter jerseys for tees and base layers.
Three things that go wrong on a cotton fleece-back jersey. Loop back: the loops are on the back, the face stays smooth — cut loop-side down and match the loop direction. Shrink: a little first-wash shrink on the cotton — pre-shrunk where the fit is precise. Heavy: 295 GSM is a warm outer layer, not a base layer.
Send a swatch or pick a shade
Tell us the garment, the shade and the quantity — or take a stock shade and we will send the shade card and a hanger swatch. For a made-to-match fleece, post or courier a swatch and we come back with a lab dip and a price at your volume.
The cotton cloths sit next to the Cotton Silver-Thread Jersey 200 GSM for a solid cotton top, and the Cotton Yarn-Dyed Check 120 GSM for a light shirting. The rest of the range is on the fabrics page.
