Single-Sided Plush Fleece 300 GSM, 175 cm
A single-sided plush fleece in 97% polyester and 3% spandex, 300 GSM on a 175 cm width. The face is a raised, brushed pile that is soft and warm to the touch; the back is the smooth knit ground. It is the classic warm-fleece cloth — a loungewear cloth, a blanket cloth, a cosy outer-layer lining, anything that wants to feel plush without the weight of a double-sided fleece.

| Knitting technics | A single-sided brushed fleece. The cloth is a weft knit; after knitting one face is raised and brushed into a soft pile while the back stays the smooth knit ground. The 3% spandex is laid in at the needle, which gives the cloth a little recovery so a cuff or a waist band relaxes back instead of bagging permanently. |
| Composition | 97% polyester, 3% spandex. Polyester is what makes the pile cheap, colourfast and easy-care; the 3% spandex is the quiet partner that lets a fitted edge open and settle. |
| Yarn | Polyester with a bare spandex laid in; counts are set at order. |

| Weight | 300 GSM / 8.8 oz/yd². A warm mid-weight fleece — heavy enough to read as a finished cosy cloth, light enough to layer. |
| Width | 175 cm / 69 inch. A wide fleece width, so the marker lays efficiently for blankets and loungewear. |
| Colour | Stock shades quoted by number (No.001–No.096), or dyed to match a swatch you supply. The quality is shown in an apricot; send the shade and we match it, not the chip. |
| Hand | Soft and warm from the brushed pile; the spandex keeps the edge from bagging. A plush, slightly springy hand rather than a flat one. |
| Stretch & recovery | Opens roughly 30–40% across the width from the knit and the 3% spandex; recovery is light-to-moderate. Fine for cuffs and easy fits, not a compressive hold. |
| Shrinkage | Under 3% — both fibres are heat-set synthetics. |
| Pilling | Grade 3–4. A brushed pile will surface-fuzz under hard abrasion; treat it like any fleece and it stays presentable. |
| Fastness | Excellent wash and light fastness — the standard argument for a polyester fleece programme. |
| Making up | A ball-point or jersey needle, a light tension; the pile wants a slightly longer stitch so it does not trap. Overlock the edges — a cut fleece edge will shed pills if left raw. |
| Cutting | Lays and cuts like any fleece; a sharp blade, mark the grain off the wales. The pile has a direction, so lay one-way for an even sheen. |
| Pressing | Do not press the pile — steam it from the back or hang it. A hot shoe on the face flattens the plush and kills the hand. |
| Abrasion | Moderate; the pile is the wear surface and it surface-fuzzes before it holes. Fine for loungewear and blankets, not for a seat-belt rub point. |

| Price | US$ 12.54 / kg (300–999 kg) · US$ 10.99 / kg (1,000 kg+) |
| Yield | ≈ 1.9 running metres per kg at 300 GSM × 175 cm (≈ US$ 6.58 per running metre, ≈ US$ 3.76 per m²). At the 1,000 kg+ price that is ≈ US$ 5.77 per running metre, ≈ US$ 3.30 per m². |
| Lead time | Stock shades ship from the lot on hand; dyeing to match adds 7–10 days for the lab dip and your approval, plus bulk. |
| Packing | Roll-packed, about 20 kg per roll, poly bag inside a woven sack. |
| Sample | Hanger swatch and shade card free; a lab dip against your own cloth charged at cost and credited against the bulk order. |
| Documents | Invoice, packing list, B/L, certificate of origin; test reports on request. |
| Care | Machine wash cool to warm, mild detergent, tumble dry low or line dry; do not press the pile. Easy care — that is the polyester point. |
One side is plush, the other is a knit
The defining thing about a single-sided fleece is the asymmetry: the face is raised and brushed into a soft pile, while the back is left as the smooth knit ground. That is what makes it lighter and cheaper than a double-sided fleece — you get the plush warm hand on the side that shows, and a plain back that sits against a lining or a skin.
The 3% spandex is the quiet upgrade over a plain poly fleece: it gives the cloth a little recovery, so a cuff, a waistband or a neckline opens and then settles instead of permanently stretching. For loungewear and blankets it is the difference between a cloth that holds its shape and one that bags.

300 GSM is a warm mid-weight
Three hundred GSM is the band where a fleece reads as a finished cosy cloth rather than a thin liner. It is heavy enough to be a loungewear top or a blanket on its own, light enough to layer under a shell. With the brushed face it traps air and feels warmer than the number suggests.
Spec it for loungewear, blankets, soft outer linings and kidswear — anywhere that wants the plush hand without the bulk and cost of a double-sided cloth. For a heavier, no-lining garment, the double-sided fleece is the next step up.

Polyester pile is why it is cheap to keep warm
Ninety-seven percent of this cloth is polyester, and that is the reason a warm fleece is not an expensive cloth: polyester piles take colour well, wash clean, and cost a fraction of a wool or a brushed-acetate equivalent. The 3% spandex is the only non-poly addition, and it is there for recovery rather than warmth.
The honest limit is the fleece one: a brushed pile surface-fuzzes under hard abrasion and it does not love a hot iron on the face. Both are manageable — overlock the edges, steam from the back — and for the warmth-per-dollar it is the right cloth.
Three things that go wrong on a single-sided plush fleece. Pile: lay one-way for an even sheen, and overlock the cut edges or they shed pills. Pressing: steam from the back, never a hot shoe on the face — it flattens the plush. Shade: match the apricot to your trim, not to a chip.
Send a swatch or pick a shade
Tell us the garment, the shade and the quantity — or take a stock shade and we will send the shade card and a hanger swatch. For a made-to-match apricot or colour, post or courier a swatch and we come back with a lab dip and a price at your volume.
The warm knits sit next to the Double-Sided Fleece 280 GSM for a no-lining option, and the Bulky Warm Fleece 256 GSM for a chunkier, wider cloth. The rest of the range is on the fabrics page.
