Double-Sided Cationic Fleece 230 GSM, 165 cm
A double-sided brushed fleece in 95% polyester and 5% spandex, 230 GSM on a 165 cm width, using cationic-dyeable polyester. Cationic dye takes a different tone to regular polyester, so the cloth can carry a subtle two-tone or heathered effect without a second fibre. The mill markets the warmth under a “De-rong” name, but the fibre is polyester and spandex — no acrylic, no wool. It is a hoodie cloth, a jacket cloth, a cosy top.

| Customization | Available — shade, weight and width confirmed at quotation. Cationic dye lets us match a two-tone or a solid; a made-to-match is a standard poly dye. |

| Knitting technics | A double-sided brushed fleece in cationic-dyeable polyester. Both faces are raised and brushed, so there is no wrong side, and the cationic yarn takes a different tone to the ground so the cloth can read as a subtle two-tone or heather. The 5% spandex gives a little recovery. |
| Composition | 95% polyester (cationic-dyeable), 5% spandex. The mill tags it “De-rong” for its warm hand, but the fibre is polyester and spandex — no acrylic, no wool. We name it by what it is: a cationic polyester fleece. |
| Yarn | Cationic-dyeable polyester with a bare spandex laid in; counts are set at order. |

| Weight | 230 GSM / 6.8 oz/yd². A mid warm weight — lighter than the 280 double-sided, heavier than a single-sided liner. |
| Width | 165 cm / 65 inch. A standard fleece width; the knit registers across it. |
| Colour | Stock shades quoted by number (No.001–No.096), or dyed to match a swatch you supply. Because the yarn is cationic, a two-tone or heather effect is available on request — the navy quality is shown solid. |
| Hand | Soft and warm on both faces; the cationic tone gives a gentle depth that a plain solid fleece lacks. The 5% spandex keeps the edge from bagging. |
| Stretch & recovery | Opens roughly 30–40% across the width from the knit and the 5% spandex; recovery is light-to-moderate. Fine for easy fits, not a compressive hold. |
| Shrinkage | Under 3% — both fibres are heat-set synthetics. |
| Pilling | Grade 3–4. A brushed pile will surface-fuzz under hard abrasion; overlock the edges. |
| Fastness | Good — cationic dye is a touch more sensitive than disperse, so we set the fastness to a fleece programme rather than a hard-wash industrial one. |
| Making up | A ball-point or jersey needle, a slightly longer stitch so the pile does not trap; overlock the edges. With both faces plush, seams can be left unlined and still read finished. |
| Cutting | Lays and cuts like any fleece; a sharp blade, mark the grain off the wales. With no wrong side, layout is simpler — just watch the pile direction. |
| Pressing | Do not press the pile — steam it from the back or hang it. A hot shoe on either face flattens the plush and kills the hand. |
| Abrasion | Moderate; the pile is the wear surface and it surface-fuzzes before it holes. Fine for hoodies and jackets. |

| MOQ | 300 kg per shade. |
| Price | US$ 15.15 / kg (300–999 kg) · US$ 13.77 / kg (1,000 kg+) |
| Yield | ≈ 2.6 running metres per kg at 230 GSM × 165 cm (≈ US$ 5.75 per running metre, ≈ US$ 3.48 per m²). At the 1,000 kg+ price that is ≈ US$ 5.23 per running metre, ≈ US$ 3.17 per m². |
| Lead time | Stock shades ship from the lot on hand; dyeing to match (including a two-tone) adds 7–10 days for the lab dip and your approval, plus bulk. |
| Packing | Roll-packed, about 20 kg per roll, poly bag inside a woven sack. |
| Sample | Hanger swatch and shade card free; a lab dip against your own cloth charged at cost and credited against the bulk order. |
| Documents | Invoice, packing list, B/L, certificate of origin; test reports on request. |
| Care | Machine wash cool to warm, mild detergent, tumble dry low or line dry; do not press the pile. Easy care. |
Cationic dye gives the two-tone look
The “cationic” in the name is the dye method: this polyester is made to take a cationic dye, which lands a slightly different tone to the regular disperse dye on the ground. Knit the two together and the cloth reads as a subtle two-tone or heather without needing a second fibre — a depth a plain solid fleece does not have, at no extra fibre cost.
For a buyer the practical read is: you can get a heathered, more “premium” fleece look without moving to a wool or a blended yarn. The navy quality here is shown solid; ask and we will strike off a two-tone in your colours.

Both sides are brushed
Like the rest of the double-sided range, both faces are raised and brushed, so there is no wrong side and no lining step. A hoodie or a jacket can be finished with the seams showing and still read as plush on every surface, which is what makes a double-sided fleece the efficient warm choice.
At 230 GSM this is the lighter member of the double-sided family — a mid warm weight that layers more easily than the 280. Spec it for hoodies, jackets and cosy tops where you want the no-lining convenience at a lighter hand.

95/5 with a cationic yarn
Ninety-five percent cationic polyester with 5% spandex keeps the same value equation as the other fleeces: cheap, colourfast, easy-care polyester plus a little spandex recovery. The only difference is the cationic yarn, which is what earns the two-tone.
One honest note: the mill markets the warmth under a “De-rong” name, but the fibre is polyester and spandex — no acrylic, no wool. We name it by composition so a buyer is never told it contains a fibre it does not. If you need an acrylic or wool warm fibre, tell us and we will point you to the right cloth.
Three things that go wrong on a double-sided cationic fleece. Name: it is polyester and spandex, not acrylic or wool — “De-rong” is the mill’s warmth descriptor. Pile: with no wrong side, watch the pile direction and overlock the edges. Two-tone: the heather is a cationic dye effect, available on request, not automatic on a solid shade.
Send a swatch or pick a shade
Tell us the garment, the shade and the quantity — or take a stock shade and we will send the shade card and a hanger swatch. For a two-tone cationic effect or a made-to-match navy, post or courier a swatch and we come back with a lab dip and a price at your volume.
The warm knits sit next to the Double-Sided Fleece 280 GSM for a heavier no-lining cloth, and the Bulky Warm Fleece 256 GSM for a chunkier, wider cloth. The rest of the range is on the fabrics page.
